Should my Child's bad attitude alarm me?

I've got this quote from Dennis and Barbara Rainey article in Parenting. I recommend that you read it too. I excerpt some statement to post it here.

It is a rare adolescent who does not fall victim to the trap of attitude. Regularly, teens will display self-conceit or arrogance: "I can do it myself!" "Leave me alone!" "What do you know anyway?"

At the core of adolescent behavior is pride, rebellion, and undisguised self-centeredness. It is the root disease of the human heart. Because teens are trying to figure out who they are, what they are supposed to do, what's expected of them, all of these issues focus on the big me.

I want to share some bible verses to help us parents.

"Pride leads only to shame; it is  wise to be humble." Proverbs 11:2
"Pride only leads to argument, but those who take advice are wise." Proverbs 13:10
"Pride will destroy a person; a proud attitude leads to ruin." Proverbs 16:18
"Proud people will be made humble, and they will bow low with shame. At the time only the LORD will still be praised." Isaiah 2:11
"In the same way, younger people should be willing to be under older people. And all of you should be very humble with each other." 1 Peter 5:5
"God is against proud, but he gives grace to the humble." Proverbs 3:34
