John 3:20-21

“For everyone who does evil hates the light, and doesn’t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.”” John 3:20-21

James 1:5-6

“But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed.” James 1:5-6

1 Peter 5:8-9

“Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.” 1 Peter 5:8-9

1 John 4:13-15

“By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as the Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God.” 1 John 4:13-15

Luke 12:29-31

“Don’t seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious. For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things. But seek God’s Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you.” Luke 12:29-31

2 Timothy 3:2, 4

Terrible Times In The Last Days 2 Timothy 3:2, 4 Imagine a time in history when, "People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unloving, slanderous, without self-control, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding to a form of godliness but denying its power." (What a description of many inside and outside of today's churches!) Does this sound like today's world or not? So, when were these words penned? Almost 2,000 years ago in the Word of God. This prediction was prefaced with these haunting words: "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days." Sounds like we're there. How can we change? God's Word says, "the Scriptures are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ." So study God's Word. Believe what it says about how to be saved from ungodly character. Live what it says, for we all are running out of ti

Philippians 4:10

The Dangerous Game of Comparison --- Philippians  4:10 --- B. Wright An armchair philosopher once declared, “Don’t try to keep up with the Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It’s cheaper.” I applaud his creative solution to this age-old problem, but prefer God’s advice on the subject. God tells us to just not play that game at all. We fall into a destructive trap when we compare ourselves to others, because the fact is, there will always be someone who has more than we do. On Monday we are so proud of our shiny new car, but on Tuesday, a newer one is parked in the driveway next door. And that 42″ plasma TV will soon pale in comparison to your brother-in-law’s 60″ inch model with surround sound. Here’s a guarantee in life – no matter what you acquire, somebody, somewhere, is going to have something newer, shinier, and more powerful. So what’s the harm in comparing ourselves to others? Comparison takes our eyes off the blessings God put into our lives. When we compare our
