Luke 2:11-14

Today's verse was taken from BibleGateway.com website. I was not able to do my daily bible reading because of my excitement, two days to go for Christmas celebration. I pray for everyone that you are happy and contented for everything you received and given away. I pray for all for peace, glory to God, good health, and abundance of wealth for years to come.

“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”” - Luke 2:11-14

Follow Christ's Example (1 Peter 2:19-21)

"A person might have to suffer even when it is unfair, but if he thinks of God and stands the pain, God is pleased. If you are beaten for doing wrong, there is no reason to praise you for being patient in your punishment. But if you suffer for doing good, and you are patient, then God is pleased. This is what you were called to do, because Christ suffered for you and gave you an example to follow. So you should do as he did." 1 Peter 2:19-21 www.Acknowledgement.com

Thanksgiving for the King (Psalm 21:1-13)

An Old Fashioned ThanksgivingLord, the king rejoices because of your strength; he is so happy when you save him! You gave the king what he wanted and did not refuse what he asked for. You put good things before him and place a gold crown on his head. He asked you for life, and you gave it to him, so his years go on and on. He has great glory because you gave him victories; you gave him honor and praise. You always gave him blessings; you made him glad because you were with him. The king truly trust the Lord. Because God Most High always love him, he will not be overwhelmed. Your hand is against all your enemies; those who hate you will feel your power. When you appear, you will burn them up. You will destroy their families from the earth; their children will not live. They made evil plans against you, but their traps won't work. You will make them turn their backs when you aim your arrows at them. Be supreme, Lord, in your power. We sing and praise your greatness. Psalm 21:1-13 www.Acknowledgement.com

Righteousness Through Faith (Romans 3:21-26)

Kindle Bible - The Holy Bible Formatted for the Amazon KindleBut now a righteousness from God, apart from Law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those have faith in Jesus. Romans 3:21-26

The War Within Us (Romans 7:14-25)

We know that the law is spiritual, but I am not spiritual since sin rules me as if I were its slave. I do not understand the things I do. I do not do what I want to do, and I do the things I hate. And If I do not want to do the hated things I do, that means I agree that the law is good. But I am not really the one who is doing these hated things; it is sin living in me that does them. Yes, I know that nothing good lives in me - I mean nothing good lives in the part of me that is earthly and sinful. I want to do the things that are good, but I do not do them. I do not do the good things I want to do, but I do the bad things I do not want to do. So if I do things I do not want to do, then I am not the one doing them. It is sin living in me that does those things.

So I have learned this rule: When I want to do good, evil is there with me. In my mind, I'm happy with God's law. But I see another law working in my body, which makes war against the law that my mind accepts. That other law working in my body is the law of sin, and it makes me its prisoner. What a miserable man I am! Who will save me from this body that brings me death? I thank God for saving me through Jesus Christ our Lord!

So In my mind I am a slave to God's law, but in my sinful self I am a slave to the law of sin.

Should my Child's bad attitude alarm me?

I've got this quote from Dennis and Barbara Rainey article in Parenting. I recommend that you read it too. I excerpt some statement to post it here.

It is a rare adolescent who does not fall victim to the trap of attitude. Regularly, teens will display self-conceit or arrogance: "I can do it myself!" "Leave me alone!" "What do you know anyway?"

At the core of adolescent behavior is pride, rebellion, and undisguised self-centeredness. It is the root disease of the human heart. Because teens are trying to figure out who they are, what they are supposed to do, what's expected of them, all of these issues focus on the big me.

I want to share some bible verses to help us parents.

"Pride leads only to shame; it is  wise to be humble." Proverbs 11:2
"Pride only leads to argument, but those who take advice are wise." Proverbs 13:10
"Pride will destroy a person; a proud attitude leads to ruin." Proverbs 16:18
"Proud people will be made humble, and they will bow low with shame. At the time only the LORD will still be praised." Isaiah 2:11
"In the same way, younger people should be willing to be under older people. And all of you should be very humble with each other." 1 Peter 5:5
"God is against proud, but he gives grace to the humble." Proverbs 3:34

The Mayonnaise Jar

When things in your life seem, Almost too much to handle,When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy classAnd had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly,He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jarAnd proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students, If the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and pouredthem into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls.

He then asked The students againIf the jar was full.. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand And poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.He asked once more if the jar was full. The students respondedWith an unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced Two cups of coffee from under the tableAnd poured the entire contents Into the jar, effectively Filling the Empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, As the laughter subsided,'I want you to recognize that This jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things - your partner, family, children, health, friends, favorite passions and your Maker.Things that if everything else was lost And only they remained, Your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter Like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else --The small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' He continued,'there is no room for The pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time And energy on the small stuff,You will never have room for The things that areImportant to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.Play with your children.Take time to get medical checkups.Take your partner out to dinner. There will always be time To clean the house and fix the disposal. 'The things that really matter.Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her handAnd inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled.'I'm glad you asked'.
It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a cup of coffee or two with one of your friends.

Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand

"Send the people away so they can go to the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat."
But he answered, "You give them something to eat."
They said to him, "That would take eight months of a man's wages! Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them to eat?"
"How many loaves do you have?" he asked. Go out and see."
When they found out, they said, "Five-and two fish"
Then Jesus directed them to have all the people sit down in groups of hundreds and fifties. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up into heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish. The number of the men who had eaten was five thousand;

The Tree and Its Fruit

"No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out the evil stored up in his heart. For out the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.

All Good Things Come from God (Psalm 127:1-5)

Jesus of NazarethIf the Lord doesn't build the house, the builders are working for nothing. If the Lord doesn't guard the city, the guards are watching for nothing. It is no use for you to get up early and stay up late, working for a living. The Lord gives sleep to those he loves. Children are a gift from the Lord; babies are reward. Children who are born to a young man are like arrows in the hand of a warrior. Happy is the man who has his bag full of arrows. They will not be defeated when they fight their enemies at the city gate. Psalm 127:1-5 www.Acknowldgement.com

PSALM (128:6-8)

The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of SkepticismPraise the LORD,
who did not let them chew us up.
We escaped like a bird
    from the hunter's trap.
The trap broke,
    and we escaped.
Our help comes from the LORD,
    who made heaven and earth.

Matthew 5:43-48, Matthew 6:9-14

Love Your Enemies 5:43-48

"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and send rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Prayer, Matthew 6:9-14

This, then, is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed (holy) be you name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is on heaven give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts (trespassers), as we also have forgiven our debtors (as we forgive those who trespass against us). And lead us not into temptation, but deliver from the evil one (evil).

The Lord Guard his People (Psalm 121:1-8)

Good Night GodI look up the hills, but where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, who make heaven and earth. He will not let you be defeated. He who guards you never sleeps. He who guard Israel never rest or sleeps. The Lord guards you. The Lord is the shade that protects you from the sun. The sun cannot hurt you during the day, and the moon cannot hurt you at night. The Lord will protect you from all dangers, he will guard your life. The Lord will guard you as you come and go, both now and forever. Psalm 121:1-8 www.Acknowledgement.com

Salt and Light

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shrine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Honest People Are Blessed (Psalm 112:1-10)

Praise the Lord!

Jesus: Uncovering the Life, Teachings, and Relevance of a Religious RevolutionaryHappy are those who respect the Lord, who want what he commands. Their descendants will be powerful in the land; the children of honest people will be blessed. Their houses will be full of wealth and riches, and their goodness will continue forever. A light shines in the dark for honest people, for those who are merciful and kind and good. It is good to be merciful and generous. Those who are fair in their business will never be defeated. Good people will always be remembered. They won't be afraid of bad news; their hearts are steady because they trust the Lord. They are confident and will not be afraid; they will look down on their enemies. They give freely to the poor. The things they do are right and will continue forever. They will be given great honor. The wicked will see this and become angry; they will grind their teeth in anger and then disappear. The wishes of the wicked will come to nothing. Psalm 112:1-10 www.Acknowledgement.com

Psalm 18:32-36

"It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights. A Call to Praise the Lord (Psalm 100:1-5)

God: A BiographyShout to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with joy; come before him with singing. Knowing that the Lord is God. He made us, and we belong to him; we are his people, the sheep he tends. Come into his city with songs of thanksgiving and into his courtyards with songs of praise. Thank him and praise his name. Joshua 10:13, 10:16

"Remember the command that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you: 'The LORD your God is giving you rest and has granted you this land."

Then they answered Joshua, "Whatever you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.

A Rich Young Man's Question (Mark 10:17-21)

As Jesus started to leave, a man ran to him and fell on his knees before Jesus. The man asked,"Good teacher, what must I do to have life forever?"

Jesus answered,"Why do you call me good? Only God is good. You know the commands: you shall not murder anyone. You must not be guilty of adultery. You must not steal. You must not tell lies about your neighbor. you must not cheat. Honor your father and mother."

Jesus, looking at the man, loved him and said,"There is one more thing you need to do. Go and sell everything you have, and give your money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me."

Trust in the Lord (Psalm 11:1-7)

Jesus of NazarethI trust in the Lord for protection. So why do you say to me, "Fly like a bird to your mountain. Like hunters, the wicked string their bows; they set their arrows on the bowstrings. They shoot from dark places at those who are honest. When all that is good falls apart, what can good people do?"

The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord sits on his throne in heaven. He sees what people do; he keep his eye on them. The Lord tests those how do right, but he hates the wicked and those who love to hurt others. He will send hot coals and burning sulfur on the wicked. A whirlwind is what they will get. The Lord does what is right, and he loves justice, so honest people will see his face. Psalm 11:1-7 www.Acknowledgement.com

Does Wealth Bring Happiness?

By: Liz Curtiz Higgs
When it comes to cash, there never seems to be enough of it. As Richard Armour said, "That money talks, I'll not deny; I heard it once, it said, 'Good-bye!'"

Did Jesus Really Rise from the Dead?My experience is that when payday comes, the check goes in the bank, the balance look terrific, I spend twenty minutes writing check to pay bills, and the balance is right back where it was when I started. In theory, one would think that if we earned just a little more money, it would solve that problem. My own life tells me that when we make a little more, we spend a little more sometimes before we even make it.

When frugal Bill and I married, we set up housekeeping on a property so small that we didn't even need a lawn mower. Cutting grass meant wielding a Weed Eater for ten minutes and we were done. Money was tight in the early years, and on paper there was no way Bill and I could pull off starting a business and starting a family, financially.

But we did. Sometimes it meant borrowing money from a loved one for a season, or paying back our obligations on time but very slowly. Most of the time it meant doing without. Peanut butter was a daily fare (until it got to pricey), and eating out meant we split a Happy Meal at McDonald's, and our baby got the prize!

For fun, we went for long drives up and down the neighboring streets in the evening while Matthew snoozed in his car seat. As the houses got bigger and more expensive, we marveled at their size and guessed at their value. So, to keep our covetousness in check, we intentionally turned down streets where the houses and yards were smaller and the cars at the curb were older.

Finally, we pulled into our own driveway and said, "Oh, what a mansion! Thank you, God, for our beautiful house!" It was more cottage than castle, but it was ours (and the bank's), and were most grateful.

Then Jesus said to them, "Be careful and guard against all kinds of greed. Life is not measured by how much one owns." Luke 12:15 www.Acknowledgement.com

What is the Key to Happiness?

Happiness: A Guide to Developing Life's Most Important Skill
By Andy Andrews
Beginning this very moment, I am a happy person, for I grasp the truth of the physical law that enables one to live  happily every day. I know that happiness is not an emotional phantom floating in and out of my life. Happiness is a choice. Happiness is the end result of certain thoughts and activities, which actually bring about a chemical reaction in my body. This reaction results in a euphoria that, while elusive to some, is totally under my control.

Today I will choose to be happy. I will greet each day with laughter. Within moments of awakening, I will laugh for seven seconds. After such a small period of time, excitement has begun to flow through my bloodstream. I feel different. I am different! I am enthusiastic about the day. I am alert to its possibilities. I am happy!

My smile has become my calling card. It is, after all, the most potent weapon I possess. My smile has the strength to forge bonds, break the ice, and calm storms. I will use my smile constantly.

My God has bestowed upon me many gifts, and for these I will remember to be grateful. Too many times I have offered up the prayers for beggar, always asking for more and forgetting to give thanks. I do not wish to be seen as a greedy child, unappreciative and disrespectful. I am grateful for sight and sound and breath. If ever in my life there is a pouring out of blessing beyond that, then I will be grateful for the miracle of abundance.

I will greet each day with laughter. I will smile at every person I meet. I am the possessor of a grateful spirit.

Today I will choose to be happy. www.Acknowledgement.com

Safe in the Lord (Psalm 91:1-4)

Those who go to God Most High for safety will be protected by the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, "You are my place of safety and protection. You are my God and I trust you." His truth will be your shield and protection. Psalm 91:1-4 www.Acknowledgement.com

Trusting Money is Foolish (Psalm 49:1-20)

Louie Giglio: How Great is Our GodListen to this, all you nations; listen, all you who live on earth. Listen, both great and small, rich and poor together. What I say is wise, and my heart speaks with understanding. I will pay attention to a wise saying; I will explain my riddle on the harp.

Why should I be afraid of bad days? Why should I fear when evil men surround me? They trust in their money and brag about their riches. No one can buy back the life of another. No one can pay God for his own life, because the price of a life is high. No payment is ever enough. Do people live forever? Don't they all face death?

See, even wise people die. Fools and stupid people die and leave their wealth to others. Their graves will always be their homes. They will live there from now on, even though they named places after themselves. Even rich people do not live forever; like animals, people die.

This is what will happen to those who trust in themselves and their followers who believe them. Like sheep, they must die, and death will be their shepherd. Honest people will rule over them in the morning, and their bodies will rot in a grave far from home. But God will save my life and will take me from the grave.

Don't be afraid of rich people because their houses are more beautiful. They don't take anything to the grave; their wealth won't go down with them. Even though they were praised when they were alive - and people may praise you when you succeed - they will go to where their ancestors are. They will never see light again. Rich people with no understanding are just like animals that die. Psalm 49:1-20 www.Acknowledgement.com

A Prayer for Protection (Psalm 43:1-5)

The Jesus I Never KnewGod, defend me. Argue my case against those who don't follow you. Save me from liars and those who do evil. God, you are my strength. Why have you rejected me? Why am I say and troubled by my enemies? Send me your light and truth to guide me. Let them lead me to your holy mountain, to where you live. Then I will go to the altar of God, to God who is my joy and happiness. I will praise you with a harp, God, my God. Why am I so sad? Why am I so upset? I should put hope in God and keep praising him, my Savior and my God. Psalm 43:1-5 www.Acknowledgement.com

Life is Short (Psalm 39:1-13)

The Holy Bible (King James Version, KJV) for Kindle: The Old & New Testaments, Deuterocanonical literature, Glossary & Suggested Reading List. ILLUSTRATED by Gustave Dore (Mobi Spiritual)I said, "I will be careful how I act and will not since by what I say. I will be careful what I say around wicked people." So I kept very quite. I didn't even say anything good, but I became even more upset. I became very angry inside, and as I thought about it, my anger burned. So I spoke: "Lord, tell me when the end will come and how long I will live. Let me know how long I have. You have given me only a short life; my lifetime is like nothing to you. Everyone's lief is only a breath. People are like shadows moving about. All their work is for nothing; they collect things but don't know who will get them.

"So, Lord, what hope do I have? You are my hope. Save me from all my sins. Don't let wicked fools make fun of me. I am quite; I do not open mouth, because you are the one who has done this. Quit punishing me; your beating is about to kill me. You correct and punish people for their sins; like a moth, you destroy what they love. Everyone's life is only a breath..

"Lord, hear my prayer, and listen to my cry. Do not ignore my tears. I am like a visitor with you. Like my ancestors, I'm only here a short time. Leave me alone so I can be happy before I have leave and am no more." Psalm 39:1-13 www.Acknowledgement.com

A Prayer in Troubled Times (Psalm 28:1-9)

Jesus: A Story of EnlightenmentLord, my Rock, I call out to you for help. Do not be deaf to me. If you are silent, I will be like those in the grave. Hear the sound of my prayer, when I cry out to you for help. I raise my hands toward your Most Holy Place. Don't drag me away with the wicked, with those who do evil. They say "Peace" to their neighbors, but evil is in their hearts. Pay them back for what they have done for their evil deeds. Pay them back for what they have done; give them their reward. They don't understand what the Lord has done or what he has made. So he will knock them down and not lift them up.

Praise the Lord, because he heard my prayer for help. The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him, and he helps me. I am very happy, and I praise him with my song. The Lord is powerful; he gives victory to his chosen one. Save your people and bless those who are your own. Be their shepherd and carry them forever. Psalm 28:1-9 www.Acknowledgement.com

The Lord the Shepherd (Psalm 23:1-6)

The Lord Is My ShepherdThe Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need. He lets me rest in green pastures. He leads me to calm water. He gives me new strength. He leads me on paths that are right for the good of his name. Even if I walk through a very dark valley, I will not be afraid, because you are with me. Your rod and your walking stick, comfort me.

You prepare my meal for me in front of my enemies. You pour oil on my head; you fill my cup to overflowing. Surely your goodness and love will be with me all my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:1-6 www.Acknowledgement.com

A Prayer for Protection (Psalm 17:1-9)

Personal JourneyLord, hear me begging for fairness; listen to my cry for help. Pay attention to my prayer, because I speak the truth. You will judge that I am right; your eyes can see what is true. You have examined my heart; you have tested me all night. You questioned me without finding anything wrong; I have not sinned with my mouth. I have obeyed your commands, so I have not done what evil people do. I have done what you told me; I have not failed.

I call you God, and you answered me. Listen to me now, and hear what I say. Your love is wonderful. By your power you save those who trust you from their enemies. Protect me as you would protect your own eye. Hide me under the shadow of your wings. Keep me from the wicked who attack me, from my enemies who surround me. Psalm 17:1-9 www.Acknowledgement.com

What the Lord Demands (Psalm 15:1-5)

Jesus: A Story of EnlightenmentLord, who may enter your Holy Tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? Only those who are innocent and who do what is right. Such people speak the truth from their hearts and do not tell lies about others. They do no wrong to their neighbors and do not gossip. They do not respect hateful people but honor those who honor the Lord. They keep their promises to their neighbors, even when it hurts. They do not charge interest on money they lend and do not take money to hurt innocent people.

Whoever does all these things will never be destroyed. Psalm 15:1-5 Acknowledgement.com

The Lord Takes Care of His People (Psalm 16:1-11)

The ESV Study BibleProtect me, God, because I trust you. I said to the Lord, "You are my Lord. Every good thing I have comes from you." As for the godly people in the world, they are the wonderful ones I enjoy. But those who turn to idols will have much pain. I will not offer blood to those idols or even speak their names.

No, the Lord is all I need. He takes care of me. My share in life has been pleasant; my part has been beautiful. I praise the Lord because he advises me. Even at night, I feel his leading. I keep the Lord before me always. Because he is close by my side, I will not hurt. So I rejoice and am glad. Even my body has hope, because you will not leave me in the grave. You will teach me how to live a holy life. Being with you will fill me with joy; at your right hand I will find pleasure forever. Psalm 16:1-11 www.Acknowledgement.com
